Default Powe Flux in PVE

Is it really worth as an elite? 10 energy cost is a bit high and energy deg is pointless in PVE.

No. Also, wiki says they use it as a hex and not an interrupt, so it's pretty much useless.

Answer is still no, as you are better off with Panic (lasting lots of rupts) or Psychic Stability (four second knock down).

Or Keystone signet (lolAoEdamage). That's pretty much it for mesmer.

Because I love playing with a mesmer, I would like to know what more lol elites are for them other than the one mentioned.

I use panic for easy PUGging, I use P.Instability because it's strong and fun, and that's reason enough to not consider energy surge. Might do an ineptitude build. Is fevered dreams ou keystorne fun? And what other elite options do we have, even if they are not as godly as those? (But good enough nonetheless)

Fevered Dreams is very fun and can be used instead of Panic. Something like this with a superior illusion rune. A good Dervish player or tweaking some of your hero skills help.

Should be worth noting that bringing a +1 insp rune to meet the breakpoint of Drain is a good idea.

Why the Superior rune? The extra damage from fragility is marginal and it's not your primary purpose. It doesn't help meet any important breakpoints either.

I use superior runes on all my caster builds to squeeze an extra bit more, but okay feel free to use a major. :\

Too risky imo. AI always goes after the ones with the lowest AR and HP, so if you're a squishy that can be quite dangerous when foes break through the frontline and mob you.

I'd say leave superior runes to warriors

Using Survivors and Vitae mods along with the standard Vigor Rune is enough to push your health back past the base after using a Superior Rune. After that extra health doesn't help too much since the amount of damage you can receive in HM means that if you don't get prot, you die.
I don't use Superior Runes very often, typically only on MMs and casters whose primary aim is damage but they're fine to use.

Due to the amount of attention they receive from the enemy, I would hesitate to put a superior rune on a melee character, but there's no explicit reason as to why you shouldn't if you're comfortable.

Ah yes, but that would take rune and insignia slots, would be more usefull to put other kinds on your armor parts, making it less frigid, so you can make it work with other builds that you like to run too.

On an assasin it would be a dumb idea indeed, suicide rather. But in particular warriors can get away with it, due to the wide array of defensive buffs they can use. Plus, warriors have high health by default.

The amount of health a warrior gets by default is the same every other profession gets with the exception of the Dervish.
Warriors have inherently higher armour and are therefore more durable.

Not sure what you mean by armour slot availability. Most of the time your only insignias available are health and armour and you don't need to use all the insignia slots to negate a Superior Rune.
As for the Rune slots, only about half the time does a caster want to use more than two of these on attribute runes (Main att rune on headpiece, primary att rune somewhere else). The only runes left after that worth looking at are Vitae runes for casters and a single Clarity rune for a physical.
